Underfloor heating - delivers a near perfect temperature profile between floor and ceiling due to a balanced combination of radiant and convected heat.

With conventional central heating, the majority of heat is convected air, which rises making the ceiling one of the warmest places in the room. However, 50% of warmth generated by underfloor heating is radiant heat, where the floor evenly releases heat, which is absorbed by people and objects in the room.

Warm Water Under Floor Heating
Warm Water Underfloor heating is invisible and doesn't take up valuable wall space with unsightly radiators that need to be maintained. Underfloor heating heats the lower part of a room and gives a feeling of natural warmth. Your feet will be slightly warmer than your head - perfect for comfort. With underfloor heating, the entire floor becomes a radiator. And because of its area, it does not have to reach the high temperatures of a standard wall radiator. Underfloor heating can be used with concrete floors and all types of wooden floors. It can be used at ground level and upstairs. And it can be used with all types of floor covering - stone, tiles, wood, carpets.

Solid Floor System Design
Solid Floor System Design: UFCH can be permanently built into solid concrete or screeded floors. Insulation is built into the floor as required by Building Regulations directly beneath the screeded floor. The heating pipe is simply “walked in” and is permanently covered by screed. Floating wooden or stone / tiles or standard carpet / vinyl floor covering may be used.

Suspended Floor System Design
Suspended Floor System Design:UFCH can be installed simply between the joists of a suspended floor, either from above or from below. Alternatively UFCH pipes can be laid between battens above the joists. Standard tongue and groove floor board is laid above the system and any floor covering may be used.

Floating Floor System Design
Floating Floor System Design:UFCH may be installed in floating floors above an existing solid or timber floor. Pipe is simply “pressed in” to the preformed heat emitter plate which sits in grooves within the floating floor insulation panel. Standard tongue and groove floor board is laid above the system and any floor covering may be used.

The best application will depend on the characteristics of your property. Your PRO-MECH / ECO-MECH adviser can show you which type of system is best suited for your property, together with our own specialist installation options.
